Functional Movement Yoga Therapy

With Sybil Nance, E-RYT, 800 HR Certified Yoga Therapist, Instructor HYTI Teacher Training

: This immersion will propel you forward as a Yoga therapist. You will see the body in front of you with an ability to be more curious about the healing process and less concerned with prescribing movements. This immersion will teach you how to not only see the bio-mechanics of movement that are working well and those that are not working but will set you up to simply see the client as they are.

Have you ever wondered how you are going to remember every complex health condition and every contraindication needed as a yoga therapist ? Have you ever looked at a body in front of you and thought what do I do next? Have you ever felt that what you offer is really just Yoga Asana in a private session and you know there is something more? Something Magical is missing in what you offer? Are you interested in applying all the anatomy you have learned into a practical, useful tool to help clients out of pain.

Sybil will share her expertise as a YT with you. Covering such principles as

  • Pain is not where the problem is

  • The slower you go with subtle moves the quicker the body responds

  • Stretch does not equal improved function

  • Function leads, form follows

  • The body never lies and the body will show you the way

You will learn in this immersion that allowing a body the opportunity to move in non-compensatory movements shifts the Nuro-muscular pathways that keep clients trapped in the pain cycles for years.

You will help clients not only get out of pain but the awareness to manage their own healing in a life changing kind of way. The slower you go the quicker everything improves.
