Yoga for Athletes:  Refine Strength, Power and Flexibility for Performance

With Chrys Kub, PT ERYT 500, Program Director and  Instructor Yoga Club Teacher Training

In this immersion, you will improve your ability to identify common inefficient movement patterns seen in athletes. You will explore working with the weaker or under-utilized muscle groups to improve performance. You will explore myofascial release and how to correctly use foam rolling techniques to improve mobility. You will learn the foundations of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and its use in activation of muscles and release of holding patterns as well as improving flexibility in the athlete. At the conclusion of this immersion, you will complete a case study of an athlete and provide a home practice incorporating therapeutic yoga techniques to improve their performance, heal and prevent injury.

During this immersion we will have on site athletes to work with, assess and provide with a comprehensive plan to address their individual needs.  If you are interested in being a subject of an assessment and plan during this immersion, please contact the instructor prior to the immersion.

This immersion is one module of the  4 part Structural Yoga Therapy Certification with Holistic Yoga Therapy Institute.  To complete this 90 Hour certificate, you must also take Structural Anatomy of Yoga, Structural Assessment and Yoga Therapy for the Spine and Lower Extremities,  and Structural Assessment and Yoga Therapy for the Upper Quarter.  This Certificate In Structural Yoga Therapy also will apply toward your 800 Hour Yoga Therapy Certificate.
